Where drawings are saved

Drawings save in this browser on this device. Return to the same address and browser profile to find them in My art. A different browser or private browsing window has a separate album.

Check the saving message above the paper. If saving fails, keep this page open. Use Try saving again, or open Grown-ups and choose Back up album to keep your current unsaved marks.

Device loss, clearing browser data, uninstalling or the browser removing stored data can lose local drawings. Private browsing can discard them when it closes. Keep an editable album backup outside this device.

Keep an editable backup
  1. In Grown-ups, choose Back up album. This includes current unsaved marks when the album fits the backup limit.
  2. Check your downloads for the .scribbleart file. The prepared message means the download was started, not that a safe copy has been confirmed.
  3. Copy the file to another device or a trusted folder outside this device. Make a fresh backup after important creations.

A .scribbleart album keeps editable marks. PNG pictures and print PDFs are picture copies and cannot restore an editable album. Downloaded files stay wherever you or the browser put them.

Backups are not encrypted. Check the drawings before sharing a file. If you put a copy in a cloud folder, that provider handles the copy; ScribbleScout does not automatically sync it.

Restore, recovery & removed pictures

Choose Restore album in Grown-ups and select a .scribbleart file. The app checks the file before asking you to confirm. Every restore replaces the whole current album. This also applies to backups containing only unsaved, saved or removed drawings. Back up your current album first to keep both.

Restore keeps editable ink. Optional draw-along position and tracing preferences are separate from the backup and reset after a successful restore. A cancelled or failed restore keeps the current album.

The app keeps up to three recovery snapshots in this browser and tries a valid earlier copy if the newest cannot be read. These copies share the same device and are not an external backup. If none can be read, restore a valid editable backup.

Manage drawings removes selected pictures from My art. Undo keeps only the last removed group while this page stays open, until another successful removal or a full restore. It is not a permanent trash folder. Earlier copies can remain in recovery snapshots and files you already downloaded.

Data & privacy in this preview

The studio keeps drawings and optional lesson position in this browser. It does not upload artwork or include advertisements or analytics. Separate Grown-ups pages offer optional parent Google sign-in and Stripe test checkout. Children do not need accounts.

Parent accounts and purchases have separate server records. Verified purchase activation is saved separately on this device, outside the art album and its backups. Signing out on the parent account page clears device activation and keeps drawings.

Connecting can download studio files and updates from the site hosting the app. Hosting services may process these page requests. ScribbleScout does not automatically send them your drawings.

The app requests no camera, microphone, location or contacts access. Operational logs stay in temporary memory and the browser console; the app does not upload them. Logs exclude drawing marks, names and picture titles.

Downloading and sharing are your choices. A drawing or a title you add to a print project can include personal information, so check a file before sharing it.

When something needs attention
  • Saving failed: keep the page open, try saving again and make an editable backup of the current marks in Grown-ups.
  • Album full: the limit is 200 drawings and about 20 MB of art. Back up first, then use Manage drawings to remove pictures you no longer need. If a whole backup will not fit, Manage drawings offers separate saved, unsaved and last-removed backups. Restoring any one replaces the whole album.
  • Offline is unavailable: connect, open Grown-ups and check offline readiness. Its status confirms app files, not an art backup. Back up separately.
  • Drawings seem missing: check the address, browser and profile you used. Avoid clearing browser data. A valid .scribbleart backup can replace the album if needed.
  • An update is ready: save and back up, close the studio tabs, then reopen the same address and profile. Avoid refreshing during a drawing.
About this browser preview

ScribbleScout is a quiet art studio for ages 4-8. Real purchases, automatic cloud backup and iOS/Android store releases are not active. A configured test build can check paid creative choices through parent purchase activation. Other review previews keep their content open. Every tier remains free of advertisements.

After activation, permanent packs and lifetime access have no offline reconnect deadline. Membership ends at its verified paid-through time. Refunds and account changes reach an offline device when it successfully checks online. Existing artwork keeps basic editing, saving, recovery, printing and exports.

Grown-ups groups adult tasks; it is not a passcode or childproof lock. A published support contact and the privacy information for the final released app are still being prepared.
